When I was looking for Internet tools for teachers i came across a site called Easy Test Maker. Easy Test Maker is a free online test generator to help you create your tests. With Easy Test Maker you can create multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, matching, short answer and true and false questions all on the same test. You can also insert instructions and divide your test into multiple sections.
EasyTestMaker automatically generates alternate versions entirely randomized and master answer sheets. Just click the "Generate Alternate Versions" or "Print Answer Sheet" link when you are done creating your test. I think that this will help save me a ton of time. As I have frequently shared, I am not into technology. By using this site maybe I wont have to spend as much time in front of a computer screen.

I hope to continue trying to figure out Excel. I have attempted it twice now and still suck at it. aside from that I would like to learn about how to build a web site for my students. I want to use it as a way to keep them updated on current events while appealing to their generations interests.
I plan on achieving my goals in technology by either taking a class to teach me more about teacher related technology, or by soliciting the help of a "techie" friend. Aside from that I plan on just learning as I go!

Chapter eight talks about computer virus, it discusses what one is and how they are spread. The book also discusses signs of a virus, how one spreads, as well as what to do to remove one if you get it . There are antivirus programs to help prevent your computer from being attacked. Later the chapter talks about some of the laws governing the Internet such as privacy acts, parental control, and general ethics.
This chapter taught me a lot about what to look for in my computer to detect a virus. I have had more than my share of computer viruses and crashes, so this chapter really hit home for me. I feel that the laws governing the Internet are much needed in today's society. The world is getting smaller each day and we should feel safe. an the other hand I think that we need to be careful not to step over the line into censorship.
Not much to report on the personal front. Finals are becoming a bit of a burden. I have actually been using some of the things I learned in this class for a few of my final presentations. It has helped a ton.

Chapter seven was pretty point less much like chapter six. This section spoke mostly about the atmosphere outside of the classroom, software, and teaching strategies. I felt that learning theories are the only importatn thing discussed.
i haven't learned any thig new since the last blog but i hope to because I have no idea how to do anything on Excel. it is like a foreign language to me. i have tried to grasp it before and have failed miserably.
Well the crazy roomate is still here, and my house is a mess because of her. I cant wait two more weeks. ( i khope she never finds out about my bloggs.)

I thought that Chapter 6 was extremely repetative of what we have been doing for years. I remember, specifically in high school and now in college, teachers using the internet for the classroom. I also thought the section on using computer labs was redundent of what we have been doing since elenentary school.
All of the new cool functions on power point have interested me. Power point is tohe one program that i enjoy using, so i apppreciate the new things i have learned. I am deffinately going to be making quizes and presentations with ppt for my students.
nothing new going on in my world lately, just waiting for my roomate to move out so that i can have my house back.

I found that Educational software was somthing i am interested in. I think that that is one of the smartest approaches we've made towards education. It gives quick results, testing and review. The quality of these programs are getting better. my sister uses these programs in her classroom.
the power poiont project was bacicaly a review for me. I picked up on power point through the many assingments I have done in college. i did however learn a few new things such as custom animations.
This week i have been so bogged down with schookl work I haven't been able to enjoy myself. Between School and work i am going insane. i cant wait for it all to be over so that i can relax.

Chapter 4 discusses the hardware used by educators. there is Audio input which records music speech, or sound effects. video input is the process of entering full motion recordings into the computer, this can be done by plugging your vcr or video camera into your computer. putput devices are any computer component capable of conveying information to the user.
In this chapter i learned all about the parts and functions of computers. i also learned that bits are the smallest unit of data the computer can handle, while bytes are a group of 8 bits. I also learned that when refering to data it is the unorganized facts that once organized become information.
well my computer crashed last night and i remember now why i hate technology. As cool and as useful as the programs are in the world today they are simply unreliabe. i lost all of my old papers and projects as well as the one i was working on. GIVE ME A PAPER AND PENCIL PLEASE!

Productivity software consists of word processing, spread sheets, database, and presentation graphic software. aside from these forms of software there are many that can be used on a personal basis. PMI software can be used in day to day life. It contains calendar, addressbooks, notepads and much more.

I have been doing observation hours in a local elementary school for another class, while i was in the classroom i was able to get a look at the teachers computer software where she kept track of grades. i found it very interesting because i had only seen the old hand writren grade book. I feel that after this class i will have the knowledge needed to make this new method quick and easy.

Chapter two explains diffrent ways to search the internet. Key words are important to know about because if you dont know to use minimal key words you will have a hard time finding the topic you are searching. the internet is used by a variety of diffrent people. It is used by the government, businesses, as well as colleges.In the schools the internet is very useful for accessin students records and much more.
since last class I have learned to use minimal key words in internet searches as well as much of the terminology used in the technolocical world today. although much of this section was a review for me i am happy to have reviewed it.
I had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. I went to a lake in Ga. with a bunch of my friends. It was a great experience since we are all in diffrent places now. catching up with old friends can be better than meeting new ones.

After reading chapter 1 I found that computers are a necessity in today's classrooms. the ARCS Motivational Model captures students attention using alternative techniques while remaining relevant to them, this leads to increased learning. This success promotes self confidence. Before reading chapter 1 I considered computers in classroom more for gaming than actual learning.
Since my last posting i have learned the relevance of technology in and outside of a classroom setting. I have also learned how to post a blog as well as the proper way to make up a test or quiz for my future students.
I can't believe i just spent $117 on a book I am only going to look at for six weeks of my life, we can't even sell them back!!! This Sucks I could have bought an outfit for that much and wear it for a year!!!!!

I was born in Alabama, yet i grew up in Palm Beach. I love the ocean and can't wait until this summer is over so that I can go home. YEAH!!!!
I have very little experience with technology. My past experience has been that technology tends not to work when i need it to. I never even had an e-mail address before I began attending FSU. Lets just say that Technology and i are not friends.
In this coures I would like to learn the basic skills needed to function in the technological world. I would like to advance beyond IM and email. :)
